Family Tree

January 15th, 2006

I have found software that allows you to publish a family tree – so the first section of the Booysen genealogy has already been published on the website. It includes most of the information of the current generations. Please add any missing information of the Booysen family here.

I am the namesake for the last few generations, my father and his father (birth place unknown) was from Edenburg in the Free State, we have a family bible with a few more generations in it, I wish to know if there is more information on the web, bloody difficult to find if you ask me. Full names are Adriaan Jacobus Booysen, brother Willem Adriaan Booysen (recall that this might also be a namesake to the second boy born), known name is At or Attie.

Hi, I am looking for some history on my moms side of the family. Victoria BOOYSEN. Migrated to New Zealand in 1987. Her father was Johannes Jacobus Ludewikus BOOYSEN. Born 4.8.1900. He was married to Maria Johanna DU PLOOY. Born 30.11.1905. Possibly lived in Duncan Street in Kimberley. They had 4 children – Victoria, Mary, Shirley & Christopher. We also know Johannes was 1 of 16 children and possibly had a brother Henry. Henry had a son called Hannes. Would appreciate any information anybody has that could help. Please email me at [email protected] thanks alot.

I am the grand daughter of John Hen-Boisen. The family Changed the name so that they could get work during the boer war. As my grand father said . Having an English name you were more able to get work. They then did not associate you with being a boer supporter.

I don’t know if this information will help anyone, but my father was William Adriaan Booysen, born 05 November 1945 in Bloemfontein, as far as I know. He was placed in a childrens home in 1948, when his mom passed away. As far as i know he had siblings but i dont know if their were girls or boys. My dad was apparently the baby of the family. He unfortunately passed away 30 years ago. I have no other family names.
